Glossary term: Google Analytics

Google's rebranding of the web analytics tool Urchin, which Google purchased in March 2005. Google Analytics is currently available for free as a beta offering, but Google does constrain the number of new accounts it allows to be created.

Like most third party tracking systems, Google Analytics has issues with over reporting website actions. Unlike some tracking systems, however, Google Analytics does not provide a simple transaction list to allow for the removal of duplicate transactions.
